New year, new blog? Welcome to Slice Of Chic

Well, another year has passed and here we are already getting our teeth stuck into 2019. I have high hopes and lots of ambitions for this year, so 2019, I hope you deliver!

So a lot of you have noticed the fairly large revamp my blog has been going through over the past week or so, including a change of name, theme and such. So here we are, I welcome you to my new blog, sliceofchic.co.uk! That feels very exciting to say. I’ve been wanting to make this change since about halfway through 2018, but didn’t want to rush without some preparation.

Why the change?

I knew last year that I really wanted to make my blog and social media my sole income stream alongside university. I currently have a part time job, but I hope that at some point this year, I will be able to leave that behind. I figured that to really monetise my blog and bring in an income, I needed a name and theme that resonated with me, so that’s exactly what I’ve done!

I felt like I rushed into my old blog name, and never fully realised how important that decision was until I properly began my blogging journey! If you don’t like and relate to your blog’s name and purpose, how are your readers supposed to, right?!

So, what’s new?

So the name ‘slice of chic’ was a long time in the making. I did a lot of research and playing around (and twitter polls!) before settling on a name. And then came the issue of making sure the name was available as a domain and on all social medias. That tends to be the trickiest part! But in the end, I found one!

I’ve been eyeing up the theme I’m now using for a while. It took me a long while to decide on a theme from the lovely Pipdig, but at last I settled! I’m so glad I made this change, now to perfect it all! I have so so many post ideas, I had a massive spur of creativity recently and I can’t wait to share with you all! I hope you’ll follow me on this journey, and love it as much as I know I will!

Speak soon beauties x

The website looks great! I also just redid mine. I’ve launched, but not really marketed my blog much. I feel like it still needs more work.

Hi Yasmin! My goal for 2019 is to buy a pipdig blog theme. After reading your post and scrolling through, your blog look inspires me. I’m so motivated to get that theme this year once I start making extra cash. I’m so excited for you and your blog. The name is super cute and memorable, I’m glad it was available for you. Wishing you the best for 2019 and your blogging journey 💋🙌🏾❤️
