Listen up my frizzy haired ladies. You wake up with hair representing a disheveled lion’s mane, and you only have 10 minutes to get ready. It’s a daily issue, right? If you know, you know.
In today’s post I’m going to let you into my haircare secrets to tame my hair! These are the hacks I swear by to tame my frizz, and keep my hair looking (semi) well put together!
Secrets to maintaining frizzy hair
1. Get regular haircuts
Sounds obvious, right? But sometimes I forget how long it’s been since I’ve had a cut (oops). But having those split ends cut off can really help your hair. Generally a lot of the frizz is at the end of your hair, so having it chopped off can really help de-frizz.
2. Use a moisturising conditioner
I wash my hair ever other day, and try to do a deep condition a few times a week. Changing my conditioner has been a game changer for my frizz, I am currently using the Tresemme Moisture Conditioner and I love it. Leave the conditioner in for at least 10 to 15 minutes, but the longer the better!
3. Dry your hair properly
In recent years, I have learnt that there are ways to dry your hair that can reduce the damage caused by heat. First, I let my hair dry naturally for about 70-80% of the way. Then I will dry my hair using a diffuser on my hairdryer. The portable hairdryer by Panasonic is proven to give your hair a healthy shine. It uses Nanoe technology, which helps to retain the hair’s moisture. This can help with your frizzy hair. Horray!
My hairdryer recently exploded on me…so this will definitely be a purchase in the near future!
4. Use a hydrating hair mask weekly
I won’t lie, I am really bad at doing this regularly. Hair masks containing coconut or castor oil are great options, as these ingredients are fabulous for hydrating your hair.
You can also make your own hair mask at home using ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen cupboards. Here are my fave natural remedies for taming the frizz and looking after your locks!
5. Swap to a silk pillowcase
Sounds crazy that your pillowcase can help tame the frizz right? But it can! Swapping from a cotton to a silk pillowcase can reduce breakage and split ends, both of which cause frizz. Making this simple change can tame your hair whilst you sleep!
I hope this post may help your frizzy hair! Til next time,
