I talk a lot about skincare on the blog, it’s a really important topic to me. Today I’m going to talk about combination skincare. As I suffer from combination skin myself, I know how hard it can be to find a balance in your skincare routine in order to keep your skin happy
When yes to beauty approached me to work on this campaign with them, there was no way I could turn it down! Yes To are working towards normalising skin issues, to help people become confident in their skin. I love how real Yes To are about skincare problems, it’s the right way to go about it!
You can grab yourself all these little beauties at Sainsbury.
Combination skincare that works
The new blemish tackling range from the brand is the Yes To Tomatoes range. They pride themselves in natural skincare, and this is what the tomato range is all about. I am gradually working towards a more natural focus within my skincare routine, so these products were a great place to start.
All the products are almost 100% natural, which is a brilliant figure. I am hoping that taking a more natural approach to combination skincare will reward my skin in the long run. Piling on oodles of chemicals and strong products on to your face won’t do good for anyone!
Now I have never been a face wipe girl. I have always veered more towards micellar water/balms to remove my makeup or clean my face, I find them a lot more gentle. Now I didn’t use these to take off my makeup, I used them after. However, they took off a lot of extra product that I obviously missed!
The wipes themselves smell divine. I will admit it, I absolutely detest tomatoes. I’ve never liked them, so I was worried all these products would smell really strong. Luckily, they didn’t (hoorah)! The only way I can describe their scent is fresh. They just smell like they are actually cleaning your skin, you know?
Now I haven’t used them for long enough to claim they are blemish clearing, but I will keep y’all updated!
Now I love a good face mask. As I have oily and acne prone skin, regular face masks are essential to keeping my skin remotely clear. I try to do a face mask weekly to keep my skin as congestion free as possible.
Peel off masks are also so satisfying, so I was really excited to try this one. The mask itself has a thick-ish texture that really feels like it’s getting into your pores. It only took around 10 minutes to dry, and you could then peel it off fairly easily (so satisfying).
Not all of it peeled off, but the remainder could be easily washed off with warm water. I have to say after removing the mask, my skin felt so freaking smooth, like baby’s butt smooth. I’ve not come across many face masks that work for me personally, so I think this will be a regular purchase for me!
As I write this post, I am sitting with this lovely mask on my face! It’s basically a sheet mask infused with detoxifying properties to clear your skin. I found the initial smell quite over powering, but it’s fine once you’ve got it on.
It kind of gives your skin that tingly sensation, which is quite nice and refreshing! Once it’s on, the mask smells amazing, it has that fresh scent that makes skincare so much more enjoyable!
My skin was softer, brighter and more fresh feeling after removing the mask. Personally, I preferred the Charcoal mask to this one! However, I still love how it has made my skin feel, it’s more refreshing than detoxifying.
I think I was most intrigued by this product, I have never seen anything like these before. You basically apply these little dots on top of a zit after you have dampened the skin, and leave it for 8/10 hours. They are like tiny little face masks, how cute!
I won’t say it completely got rid of the zit, but it certainly reduced the size and redness, which is great! I will keep using these and see if they continue to work.
I have been super happy with this combination skincare range, and I am very tempted to purchase the rest of the tomatoes range from Yes To. What are your skincare struggles? Let me know down below!
Til next time,
