Hello gorgeous people! Today I am back with a post all about how to style jewellery, featuring some pieces gifted to me by the lovely people at Jouellerie, an affordable online jewellery retailer.
Today I will teach you how to match and co ordinate your accessories with your outfit. Jewellery can bring the whole look together if styled and worn properly, so here are my top 7 tips on how to do that!
Busy patterns and simple jewellery
If your outfit has bright, bold and busy patterns, it’s usually best to stay simple when accessorising. Having a busy outfit and statement/loud jewellery can be a little bit too much on the eye.
Instead, I would suggest simpler jewellery, such as this gorgeous Gucci watch, a family piece that I wear pretty much every single day. It’s special, but also a great piece to accessorise with.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend
Oh yes, that saying is famous for a reason. You can never go wrong with diamond-esque jewellery to compliment an outfit. It’s so classic and timeless.
I tend to make jewellery pieces like this the centre of attention by wearing darker/plain clothes. This in turn stops the jewellery from just blending into the outfit, making it a real head turner. You sparkle girl!
This set of gorgeous earrings from Jouellerie are the perfect sparkly accessory to liven up a plain outfit. I tend to wear slightly smaller studs in my second piercing, and larger ones for my main earrings.
Gold goes hand in hand with black and white
A classic and gorgeous combination. With any black and white outfit, gold is the perfect metal to compliment the look. My favourite ways to wear gold jewellery are watches, hoop earrings and necklaces.
Statement earrings highlight the face (wear hair up = shows off earrings)
Statement earrings have been a massive jewellery trend this year. The tassels, big hoops and tortoise shell print have swept over all the high street stores. If you have long hair like me, it can be difficult to have your hair down and still show off your earrings.
If you want to make your earrings a focal point of your look, wear your hair back. Drawing attention to your ears highlights the face and automatically brings people’s gaze upwards. I especially like to do this if I want to attract a little more attention to my makeup look.
If you’re sitting at a computer typing all day, perhaps a whole stack of dangly bracelets isn’t your best option. I forget how naked I feel without jewellery on until I need to take it off. Just think about the activities of the day ahead, and accessorise accordingly.
Another big trend in accessorising is stacking jewellery. One of my favourite ways to do this is stacking rings and necklaces. For example these ASOS layered necklaces are a jewellery staple, they can take an outfit from simple to edgy.
A great way to style layered necklaces is wearing them with a fairly plain white/black tee, which really makes the necklaces stand out.
Match your necklace to your neckline
What I mean by this is if your top has a low neckline, wear a longer necklace. If you have a high neck top, wear a shorter necklace. Wear jewellery that complements the neckline of your clothes, it can help make you look much more put together!
