Stress. We all hate it, but we all experience it.
It can make us emotional, drained and tired. But luckily, there are ways to combat it.
Knowing how to relax is important to wind down after a long day. So today I’m going to share my top tips for a cosy and relaxing night in!
How to relax after a stressful day
Watch a film or TV series
One of my favourite ways to wind down in the evenings, stick on some good telly! Personally, I love binge watching a series on Netflix, there’s nothing better, and you’ll never run out of programmes to watch.
If you want a really high quality TV, check out the Panasonic Oled Televisions*. These are a new generation of TV, which aim to ensure the picture represents the filmmaker’s visions. These remarkable screens are even used in Hollywood filmmaking, you can’t get much better than that!
So every episode of Friends will be in even better quality, hoorah! A couple of other TV recommendations I have for you are The 100, How to get away with murder, Silent Witness and Gossip Girl!
I don’t think anyone can deny the sheer power of a warm bath and a face mask. It’s just the best self care medicine, isn’t it?

Running a bath, popping in a bath bomb and just soaking for a while can make the world of difference. If you’re not a bath person, no worries! Having a warm shower does the trick too.
I will list some of my favourite bath/shower products for how to relax and pamper yourself:
Remember not to neglect your skin after a bath! Apply your skincare routine, an all over body moisturiser and maybe some hair oil. This is my favourite body moisturiser, I use it every day without fail.

Turn your phone off for an hour
Yes, I can feel the drop in your stomach as you imagine a whole hour detached from your phone. But trust me, it can do wonders! Spend some time with family, read a book or cook your favourite meal instead! Use your time wisely.
Social media can be a big time sucker, and can cause unnecessary stress seeing all these ‘perfect’ people’s highlight reels in instagram. Social media can be great, but know when it’s time to give it a break!
Trying to do this a few times a week has helped me feel a little less stressed, and appreciate things other than my phone more.
Ignore your pending to do list
You know when you’ve had a stressful day, but there’s still 101 things to do when you get home? I know the feeling.
Allow yourself an evening to forget that to-do list, and tackle it with a fresh head the next day. Don’t let overwhelm get the better of you! Put the to do list out the way and ignore it for just one evening. Letting yourself have that little break can do you the world of good!
A brilliant way to relax, I love doing both of these. It allows you time to connect with yourself, and ignore your surroundings. Make sure you practise it in a relatively quiet environment for ultimate relaxation!
My favourite youtube channel for yoga is Yoga with Adriene. She’s an amazing coach and helps beginners right up to professionals! Give her a try!

For meditation, there’s an app called Headspace which I really like. I’m trying to get into meditation more, as I rarely do it at the moment. Give it a go! It can be a real stress release. How to relax? Meditate!
Get out the house
This is a weather dependent one, as nobody wants to take a walk in the pouring rain. But after a long day, especially if I have been stuck inside all day, I find a walk a brilliant remedy.
Just experiencing the fresh air outside can really help relieve stress and bring you peace. I really enjoy sitting amongst nature when the sun is shining outside, connecting to your environment can make you feel amazing!
So there are my top tips for relaxing after a stressful day. Remember to check out the Panasonic TV’s I mentioned earlier, they really are amazing!
