Skincare | My Current Routine

Hello lovelies!

I hope you had a great christmas and if you don’t celebrate it, then just a lovely day in general. Today I thought I would let you have a peek at my daily skincare routine I follow. I’ve always suffered quite badly with oily, acne prone skin, and it really can take a toll on your confidence and your opinion of yourself. I try to maintain my skin as best as possible by taking care of it and treating it well. Here is my current regime!

Elemis dynamic resurfacing facial wash : This product is slightly on the pricier side and not something I’d usually go for. This product brand was used on me during a spa weekend during the summer and I loved the results, so I bought a few products. I use this face wash twice a day, morning and night. It’s a great mild exfoliation and promotes the skins natural renewal cycle. It’s also good for anti-ageing, which isn’t something that I’m overly bothered about right now but may be in the future!

Elemis balancing lavendar toner : As suggested by this product’s name, this toner is perfect for oilier skin types like mine. It’s a gentle toner that moisturises the face without leaving it oily or drying it out like some toners do. I use this immediately after the face wash and apply it with a cotton pad.

The Body Shop seaweed oil control gel cream : I’ve only purchased this and a few other products from the same range recently but I have to say I’m very impressed so far. I apply this after my toner in the morning, a little goes a long way and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dried out as some ant-oil products do. It leaves my skin matte looking and ready for makeup application. I love it!

The Body Shop seaweed oil control overnight gel : I purchased this gel alongside the gel cream, and this is the first time I’ve used a separate day and night cream for my skin. I think this is the secret to some of my skin improvements recently, I’ve seen dramatic changes for the better since using this product range. It has a similar feel and result as the day cream, but it’s a slightly more gel formula. I apply this after my toner before I go to bed.

Soap & Glory puffy eye attack : This is one of my favourite eye creams, and I use this twice daily after my day or night cream. It moisturises the under eye area and helps reduce puffiness and dark circles, which is a great help for me as I have the thinnest possible skin under my eyes! It means I get really bad dark circles. I love this cream and would recommend to others.

Simple kind to skin replenishing moisturiser : This is a lovely moisturiser to use when I feel my skin is that little bit dryer, which has been happening more often recently as we’re in the colder winter months. I usually get dry skin in my t-zone as well as oil, my skin is a strange combination of both! I also would recommend the brand Simple for skincare to anyone just starting out with skincare products or needing something a bit more gentle.

Simple kind to skin micellar cleansing water : I use this product to remove my makeup, and it’s magic in a bottle! I used to use makeup wipes religiously to remove my makeup, but I found they just aggravated my skin, especially my eye area. I’ve tried countless other micellar water products to remove my makeup, but only this one has left my skin feeling fresh, and not stung my eyes.

The Body Shop seaweed pore-cleansing exfoliator : Another recently purchased product, but definitely a new favourite! I use this scrub once or twice a week depending on how my skin looks/feels that week, and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturised. So many scrubs irritate my skin and just strip the skin of all the oils, resulting in increased oil production and more spots. This scrub is gentle and great for my sensitive skin!

Thank you so much for reading and have a lovely rest of your day!

Yasmin x
